Terms of Service

Last updated: April 19, 2026 | Effective date: Nov 1, 2025

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Tillego ("Tillego," "we," "us," or "our"), a career growth platform for managers and teams, accessible at tillego.com and tillego.app. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.

If you are using Tillego on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

1. What Tillego Is

Tillego is a career growth platform designed to help managers support the development of the people on their teams. Tillego provides tools for building career ladders, running skills assessments, surfacing team insights, and planning career conversations.

Tillego is not a performance management, compensation, termination, or HR compliance tool. You are responsible for ensuring that how you use Tillego inside your organization fits your own policies, laws, and employment practices.

2. Your Account

To use Tillego you need to create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information and keep it current.
  • Keep your login credentials secure and not share them.
  • Be responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
  • Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

3. Your Team and Your Content

When you add team members, build career ladders, run assessments, or otherwise use Tillego, you provide us with content ("Your Content"). You retain ownership of Your Content.

You grant Tillego a limited license to host, store, process, display, and transmit Your Content solely to provide and improve the service for you and your team.

You are responsible for:

  • Having the right to share the information you put into Tillego, including information about your team members.
  • Informing your team members that their information is being processed in Tillego, consistent with applicable privacy laws.
  • Using Tillego in a way that is consistent with your organization's internal policies and with applicable employment, labour, and privacy laws.

4. How You May Use Tillego

You agree not to:

  • Use Tillego for any unlawful purpose, or in violation of anyone else's rights.
  • Use Tillego to make binding employment decisions (such as termination or compensation) without independent review, human judgement, and any legally required processes.
  • Upload content that is harassing, discriminatory, defamatory, or that violates someone's privacy.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy the service, except where permitted by law.
  • Resell, sublicense, or provide Tillego as a service to third parties without our written permission.
  • Attempt to circumvent security, rate limits, or access controls.

5. Pricing and Billing

Tillego offers a free tier and paid plans. Current pricing is published at tillego.com/pricing and may change with reasonable notice.

Paid plans are billed in advance. Billing is handled by our payment processor (Stripe). If you cancel, you may continue to use the paid features until the end of your current billing period, after which your account will revert to the free tier or be closed, depending on your choice.

We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods unless required by law.

6. Beta Features and Early Access

Some parts of Tillego may be marked as "beta," "preview," or "early access." These features are provided as-is, may change or be removed, and may be less stable than the rest of the service.

7. Service Availability

We work hard to keep Tillego running reliably but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may schedule maintenance, release updates, or experience outages. Where feasible, we will give advance notice of planned downtime.

8. Suspension and Termination

You may close your account at any time from your account settings.

We may suspend or close your account if you materially breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if your use of Tillego puts other users or the service at risk. Where reasonable, we will give you notice and an opportunity to fix the issue.

On closure, we will delete Your Content consistent with our Privacy Policy and our retention practices, unless we are required to keep it to meet a legal obligation.

9. Intellectual Property

Tillego, including its software, design, brand, and documentation, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose.

If you send us feedback, ideas, or suggestions, you grant us permission to use them to improve the service without obligation to you.

10. Disclaimers

Tillego is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Tillego is a tool to help managers think about and support career growth. It is not a substitute for professional HR, legal, or employment advice. You are responsible for the decisions you make using the service.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tillego's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or (b) CAD $100.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or lost opportunities, even if we have been advised of the possibility.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify Tillego against claims, damages, and costs arising from your use of the service, your content, or your breach of these Terms.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the service evolves. If changes are material, we will notify you through the service or by email. Continued use of Tillego after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in British Columbia for any dispute, except where local law requires otherwise.
